Yesterday, we reported that Forbes listed Robert Downey Jr. as the highest-paid actor in the world, after he earned $75 million from Iron Man 3 alone. It looks like Downey has no intention of applying for welfare any time soon, after the actor all but confirmed that he'll be returning for a fourth Iron Man film.
“It’s down to Kevin (Feige, Marvel Studios president) and Ike (Perlmutter, CEO of Marvel Entertainment) and Disney to come to us with what the proposal is, and that’s on us to agree or disagree,” Downey told Entertainment Weekly when the magazine caught up with him on the set of Avengers: Age of Ultron. "When things are going great, there’s a lot of agreement.”

And, boy are things going great.
The Iron Man franchise has been unstoppable since launching in 2008, and gave birth to Marvel's wildly profitable cinematic universe. While it's hard to envision someone else as Tony Stark, nearly every superhero franchise has replaced its leading man at one point or another.
In fact, no other actor has starred in four stand-alone superhero movies since Christopher Reeve played Superman four times in the '80s. With the second Avengers film nearly wrapped, Downey will have played Iron Man in a whopping six features.
That said, he's showing no signs of fatigue with the character or the material.
“Right now, this has just been swell, hasn’t it?” Downey said of the Avengers shoot.“This has been a really good one and it feels good and we’re having a good time.”
Wait, the highest paid actor in the world is having a good time? Get outta town. (Entertainment Weekly)
