When celebrity makeup artist Nick Barose was given the opportunity to do Uzo Aduba's makeup, he was elated. "I was over the moon," says Barose. "[Crazy Eyes is] my favorite character from Orange Is the New Black." In case you haven't noticed, we're pretty into her around these parts, too, so when Barose offered to tell us exactly what he put on her face to create the gorgeous, peachy look pictured here, we were all over it.
The first step to crafting this fresh-faced summer makeup was to prep Aduba's skin, though Barose says this was minimal given how lovely her natural complexion is. He applied MAC's Matchmaster foundation, a sheer liquid formula, and used a damp Beautyblender to thin it out. "You want to show off your skin more in the summer while still looking polished," he advises.

To create the monochromatic peach of this look, he started with NARS blush in Exhibit A. "Apply it with a light touch, and be sure to blend around the edges," Barose says. For her lips, he used CoverGirl's Queen Collection Lipstick in Into the Red, blotting it down to a stain and following it with Jouer's Monaco lip gloss, which is a sheer coral.
To complement the warm tones on her lips and cheeks, Barose created a soft, bronze smoky eye using Charlotte Tilbury's Colour Chameleon eyeshadow sticks. "I used the Bronzed Garnet shade on the inner half of her eyes and Black Diamonds on the outer corners, and then I smudged everything with a Q-tip."
The overall effect? A fresh, peachy glow that's glamorous enough for a red-carpet appearance, yet wearable enough for the real world — a look that can be just as laid-back and down to earth as she is. "She was so fun to work with," Barose tells us. "We had a lot of laughs while getting ready." Oh, to be a fly on that wall...
