A hilarious/troubling story was posted on Reddit yesterday.
It involves a boy, a mother, a frustrated consumer, and a whole lotta pies. The story is this:
A Redditor who goes by the name of Thr111 was at a Burger King when a mother and her unruly child, who were in line waiting for some pie, began to cause a commotion. "This kid was out of control," Thr111 writes, "screaming, punching his mother throwing around a gameboy whenever something didn't go right in the game."
Sounds like a nightmare.
Instead of being a passive bystander, Thr111 decided to say something. "Immediately she gets up in my face telling me I can't tell her nothing about raising her child and to mind my own business," Thr111 says of the mother's reaction to his meddling.

When it was finally Thr111's turn to order, a diabolical idea came to mind. Instead ordering the burgers Thr111 had originally lined up for, the Redditor decided to order all the remaining pies, too. 23 to be exact.
"Moments later I hear the woman yelling, what do you mean you don't have any pies left, who bought them all?" Thr111 writes. "I turn around and see the cashier pointing me out with the woman shooting me a death glare. I stand there and pull out a pie and slowly start eating [it] as I stare back at her."
Thr111's behavior was spiteful, childish, cruel, and brilliant. The real question is how does it make you feel? Some of us felt sad — for the child who may have just been having a bad day and simply wanted a pie, and some for the fact that watching a child out of control is an uncomfortable, exasperating exercise.
Reddit commenters were split down the middle, with one writing "You're not a bad person, you're my hero." Another wrote, "This man is a testament to the desperate need for better mental health programs in the United States."
Where do your sympathies lie? Did you find yourself worrying about the child with the aggressive mother? Or, did your heart go out to the mother because kids can be a handful? Did you find that the punishment served up by the peckish storyteller fit the crime? Or, was it both cruel and unusual? Perhaps you understand that circumstances can't be controlled and that people inherently are good, and as such, side with the mother. Or, maybe you feel like justice served is always best?
It's rare that the entire human condition can be summed up in one streamlined anecdote, but this oddball tale at a nondescript Burger King somewhere in the United States does just that. It's a personality test of the highest order, and it's up to you to pick a side.
The fate of humanity depends on it. (Reddit)
