Before today, if someone had asked us about Audrey Hepburn, we would have gladly listed off the movies, iconic photographs, and outfits that made her famous — we wouldn't have mentioned her granddaughter Emma Ferrer. But, Harper's Bazaar may have just changed all that. Ferrer is a 20-year-old student at the Florence Academy of Art, as WWD reports, and she's also the cover model for HB's September issue.
It may be obvious that the newbie is honoring her grandmother — arms raised, wearing a Lanvin gown with a red rose at the waist, or dressed in some of Audrey's most recognizable silhouettes including the all-black Funny Face ensemble — but the familial homage isn't just hers. For this issue, Ferrer was captured by an Avedon's lens.

"Glenda [Bailey, editor-in-chief] contacted my father with the idea and explained that Michael Avedon would be the photographer," she said to WWD about her initial hesitation in choosing to imitate her grandmother for the publication. "So, understanding that there was this parallel narrative, I was able to approach it as this very meaningful experience.”
Just as Richard Avedon famously photographed the graceful, gamine style star, his grandson, Michael, has now crafted a spellbinding editorial using her kin for the September issue. And, while the majority of glossies staff their most-anticipated cover of the year with the most public personality they can wrangle, this relative unknown makes a bold and intriguing choice. See her second Bazaar cover on page two, and read the full interview with the famous granddaughter here. (WWD)

The camera certainly loves Emma just as much as her elegant matriarch.
