We first took note of Jake Lacy during his brief stint at Dunder Mifflin on the final season of The Office. Earlier this summer, he shed his Scranton roots to play the charming one-night stand of R29 fave Jenny Slate in NYC-set Obvious Child, a.k.a. the smartest rom-com we've seen in a long while. And, because Brooklyn looked so good on him, it seems he's decided to stay. Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Lacy has secured a recurring role on HBO's chronicle of the outer-borough millennial, Girls.
Lacy will be joining fellow new cast members Desiree Akhavan, Zachary Quinto, and Maude Apatow for the show's fourth season. Few details have been released about his role, other than that he'll be a recurring character. But, we could totally see Marnie falling for this guy. He's a little bit of a Charlie, no? Still, if we had our pick, we'd have him romantically involved with Shoshanna — emojis and all. (Entertainment Weekly)
