Imogen Heap’s Back With A NSFW (But Beautiful) Video

For an artist who wears her heart (sometimes literally) on her sleeve, Imogen Heap has kept her private life under wraps. Except for a few tracks off of i Megaphone and one off Ellipse, her oeuvre of songs typically skim the surface of intimacy. However, Heap fell in love between 2009's Ellipse and this year's Sparks (out August 18). And, with it came that unique blend of confidence through vulnerability that resulted in "Entanglement," a sublimely soft ode to the physical and emotional relationship with her partner, filmmaker Michael Lebor.
The track itself is simple — poetic musings about the love they make on "islands of cotton," sung over a swelling, atmospheric synth melody. It's the video complement that takes "Entanglement" to a whole new level of music artistry.
Speaking with NOWNESS, Lebor explained that he and Heap shot the video themselves, alone, in the home they share. (It's a shame something so genuinely beautiful, showing a couple in the midst of some carnal embrace, has to be labeled NSFW.) The result is absolutely, hands-down one of the most elegant music videos out there. See for yourself below. (NOWNESS)
