Beyoncé & Jay Z Get All Kill Bill On Us

Whatever it is that's going down in the Carter marriage, it's clear that Beyoncé and Jay Z are putting business matters first. And, if they can do that while fueling rumors and intensifying hype for their September 20 HBO special at the same time, so be it.
Yesterday, the couple released a steamy new trailer for the HBO special, which follows their joint On The Run tour. Clad in a disco-ball gown and a veil, Bey launches into a sultry version of Nancy Sinatra's "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)" while a cigar-smoking Hova looks on. If the song sounds familiar, it's because you heard it in Kill Bill Vol. 1 as bride-to-be Uma Thurman lay prone with a bullet in her head.

The song reference is pretty loaded. On the one hand, it hints at the criminal, Bonnie and Clyde theme of On The Run. On the other hand, it's a cut-and-dried story about marital strife. Think that's a coincidence?
Either way, mission accomplished. Consider our DVRs set for September 20. (Vanity Fair)
