Watch Jake Gyllenhaal Go Bananas In This Must-See Movie

There's a cavalcade of intriguing new movies set to debut this fall. And, after watching the electrifying new trailer for Nightcrawler, the Dan Gilroy-directed psychological thriller just soared to the top of our list.
In it, Jake Gyllenhaal stars as an ambitious, young sociopath who'll stop at nothing to succeed in the grim world of L.A. crime reporting. Armed with nothing but a camera and a ride, Gyllenhaal and his rag-tag team of guerilla journalists take voyeurism to dangerous new heights in pursuit of the next breaking story.
Although it may have the makings of a conventional thriller at first glance, Nightcrawler looks more like a piercing character study of an unhinged man on the brink of insanity. (Think Taxi Driver for the TMZ generation.) Gyllenhaal's matinee-idol days are all but a distant memory after his recent string of dark roles — and this one might just be his most twisted yet.

The film also stars Renee Russo and Bill Paxton; its world premiere hits Toronto early next month. If you happen to be in town, come find us. We'll be the ones in the front of the line, drooling.
Nightcrawler hits theaters on October 31.
