It's hard to steal Kim Kardashian's thunder on the red carpet. But, the unthinkable happened at the GQ Men of the Year awards earlier this week. The Selfie Queen and Contouring Master, who always makes her presence known, was eclipsed by her very own outfit. Her Atsuko Kudo latex bodysuit came, saw, and owned the night.
No matter where she stood or from what angle Kim was photographed, her black bodice peaked out from under a sheer, bedazzled skirt and demanded your gaze. The beaded Ralph & Russo number, which also made a valiant attempt at show-stopping, didn't stand a chance.
Atsuko Kudo, a Japanese brand based in London, seems like a surprising choice for Kardashian. But, Kim's new fashion friends might've influenced her sartorial decision. While Kanye's better half opted for the Paris Cup Body suit to walk to red carpet, she probably got a tip about the brand from her Ibiza pal, Kate Moss. The British supermodel donned an Atsuko Kudo set at Riccardo Tisci's birthday party — clearly Kim took note.
While the Ralph & Russo sparkly gown might fancily deflect a camera's flash, the Atsuko Kudo piece is the one that dazzles. And, Kim and Kate both handily proved that these latex garments are meant to be styled only under sheer or mesh. As for who had the last say in this scant outfit being put together, we're pretty sure we know what Kanye thinks of it.
