In 1986, Joan Rivers had her own Late Show on FOX. She was the first woman to host a late-night segment. And, if the current cast of characters is any indication, she may be the only woman to ever have the gig. Her tenure there was brief — Arsenio Hall took over in 1989 — but her regular appearances as Johnny Carson's guest host made her a late-night legend.
Rivers' passing on Thursday affected many people. But, the comedy world in particular was left reeling. As the slew of hosts taped their late-night shows, they took time to remember Rivers. Jimmy Fallon chose to keep it short and sweet, opting not to share a clip of Rivers, as it wouldn't do her justice. You can watch his full episode here. Ahead, how the men behind the desks honored the only woman to ever sit there.
