Unless you’ve been actively avoiding your Instagram feed for a few weeks, you’re well aware of Miley Cyrus’ recent foray into the art world. The singer has been crafting up a storm, gluing neon trinkets, toys, and random supplies scavenged from Wal-Mart into sculptures, necklaces, and yes, even a massive bong. (Insert "Just being Miley" joke here.) In a perfect culmination of it all, just last week we saw the entire raver-inspired Dirty Hippie collection in person at Jeremy Scott’s runway show.
The “artwork” itself won’t be available to buy in stores. However, if you really want to rock jewelry that looks like it came straight from your little sister’s toy box and/or your local dollar store, it’s pretty easy. As we discover from The Cut’s tutorial, all it takes are basic supplies like beads, glue, string, and some Cyrus-inspired ingenuity.
In this handy guide, learn how to make a pom-pom scrunchie, a beaded bracelet, a necklace, and bedazzled sunglasses in five minutes flat. It’s sort of like doing arts and crafts at summer camp but with a designer twist.
After all, one person’s trash is another person’s…fashion statement? (The Cut)
