Michael Brown's memorial has been destroyed in a fire this morning in Ferguson, Missouri. KMOV's Laura Hettiger broke the news early this morning.
Hettiger reports the fire broke out at approximately 6:40 a.m. Though witnesses say it was an act of arson, Hettiger found at least 10 candles near the scene. Their presence indicates the blaze may have been accidental.
Her latest tweet noted that Ferguson police were on the scene and will "obtain body cam video from the department."
We'll update as more information becomes available. Regardless of how the fire began, though, Ferguson faces yet another sad morning.
