Kendrick Lamar Loves Himself

Found: The new tune you'll be blaring on those days when your self-confidence needs a major boost. Who'd have guessed it would come courtesy of Kendrick Lamar?
The rapper gets motivational — or a tad egotistical, depending on how cynical you are — with the "I love myself" chorus on his just-revealed single, "i". (And, yes, Kanye West is probably kicking himself for not writing it first.)
The new track is less Dr. Dre-influenced drinking anthem and more feel-good soul thanks to a sample of the Isley Brother's "Who's That Lady." Lamar's voice is more high-pitched, with a message about confidence and smiling through it all. It's "Happy" for people who hated "Happy."

Cocky, confident, catchy, and charming. Is it really all that surprising coming from a Compton native who dubbed himself the "King of New York"?
