Your Second-Favorite ’80s Time-Travel Film Is Getting Another Sequel

In 1989, audiences fell in love with two teenage slackers who just wanted to pass history class without getting sent to military school or, you know, getting killed by Genghis Khan.
A "bogus" sequel followed two years later, but since then, all's been quiet on the Bill & Ted front.
Until now, that is. Alex Winter, better known as one Bill S. Preston, Esquire, has confirmed that he and Keanu Reeves will be suiting up to reprise their roles in a third film. Sorry, but somebody has to say it: Excellennnnnnnnnnnt!
The time-traveling duo were last seen marrying their princess babes and having babies, while Wyld Stallyns' music was credited with bringing peace to the world. In real life, a reboot would see the guys on their third wives, hanging out with world leaders, and surreptitiously downloading their new albums onto iPhones.

"They will be 40-something and it’s all about Bill and Ted grown up, or not grown up,” Winter said. “It’s really sweet and really fucking funny. But, it’s a Bill & Ted movie, that’s what it is. It’s for the fans of Bill & Ted. It fits very neatly in the [series]. It’s not going to feel like a reboot. The conceit is really funny: What if you’re middle-aged, haven’t really grown up, and you’re supposed to have saved the world and maybe, just maybe, you kinda haven’t?
"The script’s been finished for a while, but comedy is so specific," Winter added. "We’re in that world where producers are on, financiers are on, and we’re just working and reworking the script.”
Please make it good, guys. We haven't waited 23 years to get some sorry excuse of a sequel, especially now that George Carlin's Rufus is no longer an option. That said, we're still totally pumped. Anyone else feeling like this right now? (Yahoo! )
