It's official: Being Adele does not suck.
For starters, there's the fact that none other than Aretha Franklin covered the British singer's "Rolling In The Deep" — pretty much the highest praise possible. Now comes word that Grammy winner is earning roughly £80,000 a day (or $128,000 in U.S. dollars) despite not having released an album in nearly four years. #Winning!
Adele's two companies, including Melting Stone Publishing, have raked in £54 million (around $86.5 million U.S.) in the 22 months leading up to December 31, 2013. It should be noted that the songstress' actual cut roughly amounts to 10% of the actual take. Still, that's a pretty nice chunk of change.
With all that money to her name, Adele could totally just call it a day and spend the rest of her life doing Scrooge McDuck dives into a pile of moolah. Instead, she's busy at work on her third album, which will reportedly be called 25. Way to make that bank, girl. (The Sun)
