If you feel like splurging on a night at the movies but find yourself low on cash, we've got some good news. Red Bull has agreed to pay a massive $13 million settlement after two class action lawsuits alleged that the energy drink giant's marketing practices weren't accurate representations of their product's physical benefits or safety risks.
Rather than endure the costly and lengthy litigation process, Red Bull will dish out $10 in cash or $15 in product, to anyone who bought their neon adrenaline juice between 2002 and Oct. 3, 2014. Because no one on planet Earth still has a proof of purchase for a vodka mixer they bought in their freshman year of college 10 years ago, Red Bull is saying "screw it". All you need to do is register here, whether you bought Red Bull or not. The payment is expected to be made 150 days after registration.
“Red Bull gives you wings,” is the slogan that those who filed the suit took issue with. Anyone who's drank the stuff can attest: Red Bull does not give you wings. But, if that's what you're looking for, we know a deranged scientist in Iceland who will. (Buzzfeed)
