Selena Gomez Nails The Perfect Holiday Outfit (Just A Bit Early)

We’re not exactly planning holiday outfits yet. But, should a good one just waltz right past us, we’re not going to turn it down, either. For that reason, we can appreciate Selena Gomez’s very merry (albeit slightly prematurely so) frock. While attending the premiere of Rudderless, the actress made our brains skip ahead a couple of months with her ruby-red Christian Dior number.

The color brings to mind mulled wines, carols set to dance tracks, and running into the long-lost friends (and exes) that you only catch up with a few special times a year. And, though this particular style of dress may not exactly be appropriate for your Granny's annual brunch and It's A Wonderful Life viewing, we're sure there are other festive occasions that could fit the bill.

The trick to making this skimpy and obviously sexy dress work is simple; as in, keep it very simple. Gomez pairs it with understated accessories, such a nearly invisible Manolo Blahnik pump, plain black envelope clutch, and sparkly (but not ostentatious) studs. Even her hair and makeup are streamlined and clean, so as to not complete with the shine that her dress is providing. Consider this look totally holiday-party ready — even if you're not.
