If Hollywood rumors are true, Jennifer Lawrence’s new flick may not be a career-defining one, and it’s possible it won’t lead to yet another Oscar win or nomination, either. But, there’s one thing we can always look forward to when a new J Lawr film releases: some quality red-carpet moments. And, for the London premiere of Serena, Lawrence has already gone and done away with the traditional concept of an LBD. In this case, a (really long) blazer does the trick.
On Monday night, Lawrence decided to forgo the matching pants and wear a Dior dress that is essentially an oversized jacket. This fine-tailored frock boasted a sharp lapel and was buttoned all the way up, but still fell to a plunging neckline. The design also came with two hip pockets — you know, the mint-storage details that make dudes' evening wear so practical. But, instead of the borrowed-from-the-boys look, Lawrence is mastering the maybe-he-won't-realize-I-had-his-favorite-blazer-entirely-re-tailored trick. And, it's working quite well.
We'll consider this an invitation to shop the men's department for ourselves. And, we'll consider J Lawr's Serena premiere one of her greatest hits — regardless of the movie.
