Kim Kardashian Got “The Rachel”

When Chris McMillan, the celebrity hairstylist famous for giving Jennifer Aniston "The Rachel," posted a photo of Kim Kardashian's new chop, it prompted hair comparisons galore. Is Kim attempting to show up the mane that launched a thousand clones? Is she bringing the iconic style back? Is she going to shun her family's money and start working at Central Perk?

None of these things are likely: In fact, it seems like Kim's just trying out something different for a change of pace. But, it's kinda hard to see how different her 'do really is in the Instagram above. The filter is dark, the angle is weird, and the photo's cropped at her shoulders. (Not exactly the primo selfie we've come to expect from Mrs. Kardashian West.) Still, she's clearly altered her strands. It seems like her signature long, blended layers have given way to a choppier, face-framing texture — a Rachel 2.0, if you will.

It's a more natural, breezier style than we're used to seeing on her, which is seriously refreshing. And, trying a fresh cut for fall is something we can get behind. Let's not try to coin this look "The Kim" or anything like that, though — because, please.
