Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is getting a serious dose of awesomeness if the latest rumors from the Detroit set are to be believed.
Local TV station WILX 10 was tipped off that Jena Malone will appear in the upcoming comic book blockbuster as none other than Robin, the boy girl wonder. Malone, who has been kicking so much butt in The Hunger Games as the axe-throwing Johanna Mason, posted a flame-haired selfie with a mysterious caption on Instagram a few weeks ago. And, she's also been seen kicking around the movie's Detroit set as well.

Batman's buddy hasn't always been a dude. Sources claim that BvS is drawing some inspiration from Frank Miller's seminal graphic novel, The Dark Knight Returns, in which a red-headed schoolgirl, Carrie Kelley, takes up the mantle of Robin. (Miller has written a bunch of graphic novels that have been turned into movies, like Sin City and 300. He's also a bit of a crank.)
If this rumor is true, Robin will be in good company. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will also feature a star turn from Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Amy Adams as Lois Lane. Gadot will also be starring in her very own Wonder Woman movie, which is huge news for comic book fans who are sick and tired of waiting for Marvel to give us the Black Widow movie we so richly deserve. (As if the success of Lucy didn't prove that Scarlett Johansson can rock the box office all by herself.)
In any case, we're suddenly much more excited about Dawn of Justice. We might even forgive Zack Snyder for Sucker Punch someday. (The Independent)
