The Hollywood Reporter confirms Leslie Jones has been promoted to a full-time cast member on Saturday Night Live. She'll start this Saturday, when Jim Carey hosts the show.
Before her time on the late-night franchise, the comedian had guest star roles on Workaholics and The League. Jones has made several appearances on the show's Weekend Update segment, and has also been a writer for SNL; she was among the list of considered cast additions back in January 2013 (that's when Lorne Michaels hired Sasheer Zamata.) Though her bit about slave culture garnered criticism back in May, she inevitably won over the viewers with repeated performances alongside Colin Jost and Michael Che.
You can check out one of her latest cameos here. We're personally looking forward to more Leslie Jones on Saturday nights. (Hollywood Reporter)
