Turns Out “Bae” Means Something Entirely Different

Those of us who are adamant that FTW means "f**k the world" and not "for the win" are still perplexed and/or purposefully ignorant as to the modern usage of "bae" in pop culture. Like ostriches with our heads in the sand, we just refuse to learn more about what the hell "bae" is and why all the kids today are using it. (That's right, we even ignored the really silly article on Time about it. Which is probably just as well, anyway.)

At it turns out, our ignorance has served us well. The word "bae," which is usually used to describe someone who comes "before anyone else," has a very different meaning in Danish.

It means poop. To add insult to injury, it means "bye" in Icelandic. Apropos, no? Well, someone better tell Pharrell the exciting new meaning of his song, "Come Get It Bae." This is all sort of his fault, anyway!

The real question is whether or not best of bae will update their whole Twitter vibe. That could get NSFW. Or NSFL (not safe for life — you're welcome).

It gives a whole new meaning to this, right?
