Say what you will about Taylor Swift, her affinity for cats, and her post-workout wardrobe. Girlfriend knows how to make an album. Not only is 1989 Swift's third consecutive album to sell over a million copies in its first week, but forecasters anticipate it will sell a record 1.3 million copies plus. That means Swiftie's about to oust Britney from her venerable industry throne.
If Swift pulls through with the expected numbers, she'll break the record for one-week sales for an album by a female artist. Ms. Spears held this title from 2000 to, well, probably now, from her much lauded Oops!.. I Did It Again. Ironically enough, the single of the same name could also be Swift's victory song.

T. Swift's 1989 sales are also predicted to earn the largest for one week of any album since 2002, surpassing Eminem's The Eminem Show, which sold 1.322 million.
Official numbers won't be announced until Wednesday, November 5. Until then, see what happened when we asked a bunch of strangers to review 1989. (Billboard)
