These Celebrities Asked You To Vote But Didn’t Vote Themselves

Last month, we showed you a raucous PSA courtesy of Rock The Vote, featuring a throng of celebrities partying down to Lil Jon's "Turn Down For What." The impetus behind the video was to galvanize young people to vote in Tuesday's midterm elections.
Millennial icon Lena Dunham was just one of many boldface names who were asked to explain why they planned to vote. "Reproductive rights," Dunham said, before proceeding to dance her face off.
But, a new report alleges that — along with a handful of her fellow democracy-pushers — Dunham hasn't been following her own advice. According to the Washington Post, Dunham, Natasha Lyonne, Darren Criss, E.J. Johnson, and Whoopi Goldberg all failed to vote in the last midterm election, despite urging young America to do so themselves.

When reached for comment, the voting advocacy group insisted that their approach is "forward-thinking," according to Audrey Gelman, a Rock The Vote spokeswoman. "The talent who participate in our campaigns are registered to vote and have pledged to turn out this Tuesday and in upcoming elections," Gelman said. "We believe individuals who have missed opportunities to vote in the past should not be disqualified from committing to participate in the political process in the future, and helping spread a positive message of civic engagement."'
All of the celebrities involved in the PSA are legally registered to vote, so there's a good chance they'll turn out at the voting booths tomorrow.
