The First Minions Trailer Wants To Kill You With Cuteness

How's this for a kids' movie idea: Two single-celled organisms (a polite way of saying germs) set out to find a diabolical super-villain to serve. Sounds more like the plot to a psycho-horror fantasy, doesn't it?
Well, it's also the plot of Minions, the new animated movie based on the lovable henchmen of the 2010 hit Despicable Me. And, now that their former boss Gru (voiced by Steve Carell) is fully reformed, it's time the bumbling breakout stars find a new master.
Based on the just-released first trailer, the well-meaning sidekicks cross paths with some of the world's most notorious baddies. Unfortunately, for the likes of the Pharaoh, Dracula, and Napoleon, things don't go so well. With no one left to serve, the Minions head for 1960s New York in search of Scarlet Overkill (Sandra Bullock), the world’s first-ever female supervillain. Also lending their voices to the film are Michael Keaton, Allison Janney, Steve Coogan, and Jon Hamm, who'll play Overkill's husband.
Minions hits theaters July 10 of next year. Watch the delightful first trailer below.
