It looks like we're only getting one dose of Jennifer Lawrence this holiday season. Unlike years past, when a Lawrence double-header — a Hunger Games movie and a David O. Russell awards contender — was de rigueur, this year it's Mockingjay or bust.
However, that wasn't always supposed to be the case.
Last year, we reported that Lawrence was shooting a cameo for Dumb and Dumber To, the sequel to the Farrelly brothers' classic side splitter of almost the same name. Lawrence was rumored to be playing a younger version of Kathleen Turner's Fraida Felcher, the object of Harry and Lloyd's enthusiastic affection. With Dumb and Dumber To hitting theaters on Friday, that meant we would be treated to back-to-back J.Lawr opening weekends.

Now, The Hollywood Reporter explains that Lawrence's cameo ended up on the cutting room floor, thanks to a clause in her contract that allowed the actress to nix the scenes if she wasn't happy with their final result.
Meanwhile, Vanity Fair suggests that the cameo was never even filmed, after Peter Farrelly admitted that they tried to "work it in," but that they "weren’t able to do it," while doing press for the movie his week.
Lawrence has expressed her love of the original in the past, and was introduced to the directors by mutual friend Woody Harrelson, when both Dumb and Dumber To and the latest The Hunger Games sequel were simultaneously shooting in Atlanta.
It looks like we may have to wait until the movie's Blu-Ray release to find out whether or not the cameo was ever filmed. One thing we do know Lawrence and the Farrellys did together is eat Southern fried Chicken. But, we'd like to see footage of that, too.
