When was the last time a truly great Christmas song appeared? Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" was released in 1994, meaning it's 20 years old. Love Actually's "Do They Know It's Christmas" came out in 2003. It's high time for a new holiday tune, and Kristen Bell's new ditty might just be the one that sticks.
Bell teamed up with a cappella group Straight No Chaser for the doo-wop inspired "Text Me Merry Christmas." The feel-good tune isn't just catchy; the lyrics perfectly mirror what it's like to celebrate the holidays in the digital age.

"This holiday / You’ll be far away / And I’ll be all alone / So please remember / This December / To fully charge your phone," Bell sings in the intro. It's cheeky and completely on-the-nose.
"Text me merry Christmas / Send a selfie, too / If you do, I'll go / 'Neath the mistletoe / And pretend my screen is you," Bell sings with Straight No Chaser member Mike for the final chorus. They're both waiting for their pants to start vibrating, so let's not disappoint them or any of our other loved ones this holiday season. Show you care. Send a text and no, a tweet won't do.
