One of the most anticipated new Facebook features will not be happening. During a recent Q&A in Menlo Park, California, Mark Zuckerberg confirmed that the social network will not be adding a "dislike" button. According to the company's CEO, giving that power to Internet trolls around the world is just not what Facebook is about.
“We need to figure out the right way to do it so it ends up being a force for good, not a force for bad,” Zuckerberg said.
While Facebook generates 4.5 billion "likes" a day, Zuckerberg understands that life isn't all gumdrops and lollipops. "One of things we've thought about for quite a while is what's the right way to make it so that people can easily express a broader range of emotions," he added.

Often times, Facebook users share unhappy events in their lives, and the world around them. Zuckerberg understands that a thumbs up isn't always appropriate. "Some people have asked for a dislike button because they want to say, 'That thing isn't good.' That's not something that we think is good for the world," he said.
