Die hard fans of Sex and the City, please gather round. We have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is, despite a tantalizing quote from the show's creator, Michael Patrick King, it looks like Carrie Bradshaw has sipped her last cosmopolitan.
That's where the good news comes in.
The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Sarah Jessica Parker is very close to returning to HBO with a brand new, single-camera, half-hour comedy called Divorce. The series — which is on the verge of getting the coveted green light — will follow a middle-aged woman (Parker), as she navigates her way through "a very, very long divorce."
While it appears that Sex and the City won't be returning to HBO, Divorce will be set in New York, SJP's character will likely have a group of close girlfriends who she leans on for moral support, and a revolving door of men will be looking to help her escape the trauma of the split.
It may not be Sex and the City, but it'll be pretty darn close. (The Hollywood Reporter)
