Lady Gaga’s Selfies Just Got Their Own Beauty Campaign

What do you get when you toss Lady Gaga a phone and tell her to snap 50 selfies? A beauty campaign, obviously. At least that's what's going down between the pop star and luxe cosmetics giant Shiseido in the new year. Gaga has inked a deal to face the brand's 2015 New Year's ad campaign, according to WWD. But, as are all things with Gaga, her ads will be a little different.
Not only is the Lady modeling for the campaign, she's also in charge of the photography. According to WWD, a series of 50 Gaga selfies will appear in Japanese newspapers. Forty-six of the ads will drop Jan. 1, while the others will become available on Jan. 5. This is the latest example of the selfie ad campaign trend, which has been popularized in Asia by brands like Max Factor and McDonald's.

The only rub? The adverts will only be available in Japan, and Shiseido has no plans to show 'em anywhere else. (Though, hopefully, we can expect a few to be revealed via Instagram.) Aside from that one minor detail, we're kind of loving the idea of this. Even though Kim Kardashian may be the official selfie queen, we're excited to see what Gaga can come up with for her self-portraits. They're bound to be insanely creative, which aligns with Shiseido's overall aesthetic. The brand is known for its color, which is something Gaga is not afraid of. At all.
Now, can our friends over in Tokyo snap some shots of these so we can get a look stateside?
