Idina Menzel wants us all to just let it go. The singer came under fire for botching a performance of her smash song "Let It Go" during Wednesday's Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve telecast.
After she stumbled over the anthem's closing high note, the Twittersphere pounced on Menzel, joking that it was her "evil twin" Adele Dazeem performing in Menzel's place.
Menzel meanwhile, put her best foot forward when she took to Twitter to respond to the haters. On Thursday, the Broadway supernova tweeted an image of an excerpt from an interview she gave earlier in the year, in which she talked about her idea of success.

"There are about 3 million notes in a two-and-a-half-hour musical; being a perfectionist, it took me a long time to realize that if I'm hitting 75 percent of them, I'm succeeding," the quote read. "Performing isn't only about the acrobatics and the high notes: It's staying in the moment, connecting with the audience in an authentic way, and making yourself real to them through the music."
Menzel can also define success in other terms, too. Not only was "Let It Go" one of the best-selling singles of the year, but her musical If/Then was one of Broadway's most successful shows of the year, too.
Menzel finished by doling out some strong advice that might benefit us all in the New Year. "I am more than the notes I hit," she added, "and that's how I try to approach my life. You can't get it right all the time, but you can try your best. If you've done that, all that's left is to accept your shortcomings and having the courage to try to overcome them." (E! News)
