Last we knew, the word "Duff" referred to the great thespians Hilary and Haylie, or Homer Simpson's beer of choice. But, we learn something new from the Jendashians every day. Like today, when Kylie Jenner stepped out in a T-shirt that reads, "I'm somebody's DUFF."
Thanks to our Google-fu, we quickly learned that this charming little acronym stands for "Designated Ugly Fat Friend" — as in, the not-so-hottie hanging out with far babelier pals. The Duff is also the name of a high school movie coming out on February 20, starring Bella Thorne and Mae Whitman. Since the Urban Dictionary entry for this word was made in 2003, apparently we are actually the last people on earth to know this.
We doubt that Kylie Jenner, noted hottie and selfie enthusiast, really considers herself the duff of her group. We're just kind of bummed to learn that this phrase even exists because, ranking women against one another: not actually necessary unless said women are competing in the long jump.
Between Kylie's tee and the forthcoming flick, though, "duff" is sure to gain newfound traction. Here's hoping Kylie can somehow overcome the shame, and go back to posting her usual slew of pleased-with-herself selfies.
