The Kardashian clan's youngest siblings, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, have been experiencing a meteoric rise of late, going from supporting characters on the family reality show to industry stars in their own right. For personalities-turned-celebrities of their ilk, a clothing capsule collection is an obvious pursuit, but leave it to them to one up the others. With only a year on top of the pop-culture heap, Kendall and Kylie have managed something that even Kate Moss hasn't: securing rights to their own collection.
While the Kendall + Kylie line will be available in Topshop, its press release is carefully worded to say that the clothing is designed by Kendall and Kylie Jenner, and that Topshop is stocking the collection. A Topshop spokesperson confirmed that this is not a collaboration, and is the "global stockist," which is kind of a coup for the sisters. Beyoncé's Parkwood Topshop Athletic Ltd. venture has pursued a similar stand-alone partnership with the U.K. brand, and it's going to be interesting to see how giving celebrities this kind of control will play out.
The Kendall + Kylie collection will be available this summer at select Topshop locations around the world as well as online. We'll update here as soon as images come out, but judging from the girls' penchant for '90s-style slip dresses, crunch-flaunting crop tops, single-sole heels, and micro-miniskirts, be prepared for sleek, sophisticated separates that show off what you've got.
