The lead-up to the debut of Taylor Swift's third video off 1989 has been rather quiet. For the past week, the "Shake It Off" singer has been teasing fans with seconds-long soundless video clips on her Instagram, each one more mysterious than the next.
Now, the wait for a complete look is over.
True to her word, Swift released her video for "Style" today — sound and all. She sings about having that "good girl faith and a tight little skirt," but this video's got that Rihanna "We Found Love" projection thing 2011 liked. It's a departure from her over-the-top video for "Blank Space," but the visuals here fit the song nicely. The whole '80s/Kavinsky "Nightcall" vibe works well with the smoke screens, too. There's no appearance by Harry Styles, the alleged subject of the track, but that's a detail better left to the imaginations of eager Swifties. Having him in the video would've been too easy.
