Meet The Sex Toy That Vibrates At The Frequency Of “Om”

Whatever your Valentine's Day plans are, you may want to factor in an extra player: the Revel Body Sol, which is billed as "the only vibrator available that operates at the frequency of Om, the energy that connects and joins all things together." Now, we realize you might be thinking, I don't really need my sex toys to be enlightened. But, the Sol's particular vibration frequency ("Bone Om" at 34 Hz, "Low Om" at 68.05 Hz, and "Middle Om" at 136.1. Hz, apparently) is only the first of its selling points. The ball-shaped toy — it's about the size of a baseball — is a versatile clitoral vibrator inspired by, of all things, Sonicare toothbrushes (Revel Body's founder, Robin Elenga, once worked at Sonicare as a consultant). Elenga realized that she could apply the same magnet-powered resonating motor used in the toothbrushes to create a powerful, pulsating vibrator in a market that typically relies on battery-powered motors. Thus, the Revel Body Sol was born. Now in its second generation, this vibe is waterproof, has a USB-rechargeable battery, and offers six speeds, "from thumpy and powerful to fast and buzzy," says Elenga. The toy is advertised as being quiet, but take it from us: You might want to queue up a Spotify playlist, as Sol certainly isn't silent. We're seeing an uptick in the availability of non-phallus-shaped toys that expand play options, and the Sol is part of that movement; the different attachments that you can insert into the Sol create a range of sensations that further encourage creativity (try the ticklish Fawn attachment tip, though start at a low vibration frequency, as it can produce some intense sensations). Revel Body claims that the Om vibration of the Sol "promotes sexual awakening, reduces stress and tension, and renews your mind, body, and spirit," though we'd point out that's nothing a good orgasm can't do, no matter how you get it. Still, the Sol is a very good way of getting it.
