The debate over whether to vaccinate continues to be an ongoing one in our country, despite reports from the CDC that vaccinations will prevent over 732,000 deaths over the course of those children's lifetimes. Actress Kristen Bell knows those numbers, though, and she's firmly in the pro-vaxx camp. She expressed her unapologetic views in a recent chat for This Bag Saves Lives, a tote that helps raise money for malaria treatment. The Hollywood Reporter shared the conversation in its February 20 issue.
"When Lincoln was born [in March 2013], the whooping cough epidemic was growing. [B]efore she was two months old, we simply said [to friends], 'You have to get a whooping cough vaccination if you are going to hold our baby," Bell said.
For her, it's that cut and dry. "It's a very simple logic: I believe in trusting doctors, not know-it-alls."
