There are a lot of reasons to crush on Brittany Snow. Aside from having some serious acting chops, her favorite L.A. spots are pretty on point, her halloween costumes are #puns (she’s a modest mouse, get it?), and, oh yeah, she killed it in a little film called Pitch Perfect (and also stars in the upcoming sequel). But, as if that weren’t enough, now, she’s linking up with one of our go-to drugstore brands, Bioré, to promote its new Deep Cleaning Charcoal Pore Strips — a 2.0 version of its forever-loved nose strips. The new line is infused with purifying charcoal powder, a natural ingredient that’s said to work wonders when it comes to ridding your skin of impurities and blackheads.
On the occasion of her new partnership with the brand, we sat down with Snow to get the scoop on her beauty routine — and to see if we could pry her for details regarding the impending return of the Barden Bellas. Ahead, the actress dishes on working with a brand she’s loved since her tween years, the best, most unexpected moment during filming for Pitch Perfect 2, and chopping off all her hair.
How did you initially team up with Bioré?
“I remember when I was still in middle school, I would go get Bioré Pore Strips and use them. So I think [Bioré] heard that I [was a fan], so they contacted me and we came up with a partnership around this #Stripwithbiore challenge, which partners the brand with my charity Love is Louder.” What are you most high maintenance about when it comes to getting ready in the morning?
“I’m very, very low maintenance. I wish I could say that it's because I’m just a tomboy and I don’t love makeup. But, that’s not the case — I love makeup, I love hair stuff. Sometimes, when I get bored, I just put on different makeup and try different makeup techniques. But, in my day-to-day life, I think it’s because I’m very lazy and I’m very impatient: If it takes me more than five minutes to get ready, I get really anxious. Most of the time, my hair is just down — it’s naturally pretty wavy and curly — and I’ll just wear a little concealer, mascara, and lipstick. So, it’s really nice to go to red carpets or [events for which] I get my hair and makeup done, because that's definitely the most I ever do.” What’s the boldest beauty risk you’ve ever taken?
“The boldest beauty risk I ever took was definitely when I chopped off all my hair. I always wanted to do it. My friend Jessica Stroup did it a couple years before I did, and I always thought it was so badass. I never thought that I could do it. But, then when I was finally wanting to do something a little different, I was like, Fine! I’ll do it! So, I cut off all of my hair — it was right below my ears — and I died it all white-blonde, and I tried to rock that. For a month, it was really fun. After that, I was kind of sick of it. But, I was really proud of myself for taking the risk — it was bold!” Okay, let’s talk Pitch Perfect 2. Do you have a favorite memory from the set — without giving away too many spoilers?!
“So, we go to a camp in the movie. And, [being there] was my favorite part. Not only was it fun because we actually got to all the things that you see in the montage — like zip-line and wrestle in mud — but, we also got to be all together, as cheesy as it sounds. There’s a scene that we did there where I improvised and started singing “Torn” by Natalie Imbruglia, and it actually made it into the movie! That whole part of the movie is so fun.” What’s your favorite line from a movie?
“My favorite line is from Penny Lane in Almost Famous — “It’s all happening.” But, my favorite movie, is probably When Harry Met Sally — I quote that movie way too often.” Who do you look up to as an actress?
“I love Marion Cotillard — everything she’s been in, she’s always so graceful and talented.”
