CHVRCHES Turn Up The Eeriness On Justin Timberlake’s “Cry Me A River”

Scottish electro-pop trio CHVRCHES has done it again. It's gone and spun its unique blend of poppy, brooding electronic music over a classic tune. CHVRCHES did it with Whitney Houston's "It's Not Right, But It's Okay" and now it's Justin Timberlake's turn to get covered. The group stopped by BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge earlier this week. In usual Live Lounge fashion, CHVRCHES was asked to cover someone else's song. The tune? JT's 2002 single "Cry Me a River." Lauren Mayberry's delivery could give Timberlake's a run for his beatboxing money. She's belting notes that his falsetto lightly graces.  CHVRCHES is currently working on a sophomore album, but perhaps the band should think about releasing a cover album in the meantime. We'd get down to a studio quality version of this jam any day.
