Kanye West Is Not Happy With The Creator Of New York Fashion Week

Kanye West just finished delivering one of his signature Twitter soliloquies, this time to Fern Mallis, the creator of New York Fashion Week and former executive director of the CFDA. Mallis expressed her uncharitable view of West to the New York Post on Wednesday: "I'm kind of over Kanye." Since she went on to say, "I’m not a fan of his music, and the attitude and the agenda is not my style,” it's actually not clear whether she's commenting on the man or the fashion designer. But, West clearly interpreted it as the latter, and responded with a nine-tweet suite this morning.
In it, West says that it's been "very difficult" to design clothing (seeming to posit that designers should be judged on effort, rather than results), and that he's encountered bigotry in attempting to enter the design world. He goes on to explain how he's been hobbled by his own fame, which is "looked down upon." He then signs off with a few rousing words about how he won't stop fighting for his dreams, no matter how much the world "steps on" them, and adds a personal invite to Mallis to have dinner at The Spotted Pig. Funny, I didn't think hardscrabble, underdog dreamers ate at Michelin-starred restaurants. You can read the whole thing below. Your move, Mallis, you heartless dream-crusher.
