"DuckTales! Woo-hoo!" Come 2017, the DuckTales gang will be back on television. Disney announced today that the adventures of Scrooge McDuck, his grandnephews Huey, Dewey and Louie, and the mischievous Donald Duck will be revived as a new comedy series for a syndicated"The Disney Afternoon" cartoon block. It will follow their worldwide ventures and sometimes, as the theme song suggests, history rewrites.

"DuckTales
has a special place in Disney's TV animation history," said Marc Buhaj, senior vice president of programming and general manager of Disney XD. "Our new series will bring that same energy and adventurous spirit to a new generation." Other characters from the Emmy-winning show will also return. Expect to see Duckworth, Launchpad McQuack, Mrs. Beakley, and more. It's also been reported that Webbigail Vanderquack will make a comeback, too. Considering there's already another Vander-blank dominating the zeitgeist, perhaps Disney will find a clever way to have these two girls meet. Lisa Vanderpump and Webbigail Vanderquack would make quite the oddball team. DuckTales takes on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills? One can only hope. In the meantime, here's a live-action version of the theme song because why the duck not? (Deadline)
