This French trailer for the upcoming film adaptation of Gillian Flynn's novel
Dark Places is whetting our appetite
for the Charlize Theron thriller. Theron stars as Libby Day, a woman
understandably tormented by the murder of her family when she was young. Little
Libby points the finger at her older brother Ben as the culprit, and he's been
locked up ever since.
As if things couldn't get any more screwed up, Libby is approached
by a fellow who's part of a group that "investigates" unsolved cases.
Lyle, played by Nicholas Hoult, and other members of his "Kill Club"
are certain there's more to the case than meets the eye.
Dark Places premieres in Paris on March 30 and opens in theatres there on April 8 (director Gilles Paquet-Brenner is French). No U.S. release date has been set. But, seeing as Gone Girl made oodles of money and snagged all sorts of awards for director David Finch, Flynn, and star Rosamund Pike, we're assuming Dark Places will soon be on the fast track to U.S. theaters. Until then, you have a little extra time to
catch up on your reading. [Vulture]
