This New App Turns Your #OOTDs Into Custom Fashion Sketches

While most of our fashion obsessions play out over social media and iPhone apps, there's something so special about the good old-fashioned outfit sketches designers scrawl with pen on paper. If some of that specialness came from how hard it was to get our hands on the drawings, though, that's about to change. The new app Chic Sketch lets us turn our daily outfit photos into illustrations. Even cooler, the resulting renderings look almost identical to the ones we've seen at Fashion Week (or the Met Ball, or in designer sneak peeks).  Here's how it works: Just upload your photo into the app (full-body shots work best to showcase the outfit). Depending on the current demand, you'll receive a customized color sketch within a few minutes to an hour. Each rendering is hand-drawn by fashion illustrator Emily Brickel, who's sketched for publications like New York and People magazines. The app itself is free on the App Store and Google Play, but because every sketch is custom-drawn, the illustrations cost $9.99 each. Which, if you ask us, is a small price to pay for immortalizing a particularly inspired ensemble. Who needs a filter when you've got a personalized work of art?
