Watching anyone lose a job sucks. That's why, even if you
don't watch Hart of Dixie, you can't help but be a little moved by its stars'
farewell to the four-year-old CW series. While the network still hasn't officially
announced that Hart of Dixie is cancelled, the show creator and some of its
stars have been saying their goodbyes on social media. Jaime King took to
Instagram on Friday night to post the sweetest letter of thanks to the show,
her castmates, the crew, and even her own character, Lemon.
"Farewell,
my beloved Bluebell," the actress, 35, wrote to the fictional
Alabama town. "It has been the best 4 years of my life, giving my heart
and soul to this role & to our dear fans of Hart of Dixie."
She tells star Rachel Bilson, "[Y]ou know I did this show to be close to you buddy, I
love you."
Then she sums up everything that she's loved about
Lemon, and how she's taught her how to be a loyal friend to others. "[T]radition
is great if it means being true to yourself, if not let it go gracefully or with
the middle finger," she says, concluding with our favorite line: "[B]e
a feminist & the only thing close to being 'perfect' is following your
heart."
No wonder Jaime is part of Taylor Swift's amazing circle of girlfriends (and just asked Tay to be her second baby's godmother). That's the
kind of loving, supportive talk we'd like to see a little more of in show
business, and everywhere else for that matter.
