Jessica Alba Doesn’t Look Like This Anymore

Celebrity hair changes tend to perk us up more on a Monday that our fifth cup of coffee. So, imagine our delight when, scrolling through what we missed on Instagram this weekend, we came across Jessica Alba's new crop. The actress snipped herself a new, blunt bob with tons 'o layers.  Jessica has a history of sharing her mane swaps on Instagram. (Remember her Insta-video of her hair color change?) The big story here is that she's adopted what is quickly becoming the crop of the summer: It seems the bob is hanging onto its "It-cut" status with both hands. Kim Kardashian has one. Lauren Conrad does too. Even Vanessa Hudgens has adopted this choppy cut. The neck-grazing chop does suit Jessica quite well. She's no stranger to changing up her length — we've seen Jessica with both long and short hair, and it's nice to see her continuing with that versatility. If you're considering a seasonal snip, perhaps a chin-length bob should be on your radar. The one Jessica has is a bit different that the shorter 'dos we've seen other stars opting for. It's blunt at the ends, but totally tousled through the layers, making it equal parts Power Girl and Cali Cool.   Style-wise, though, the cut seems to be a favorite among ladies with straighter strands, or women with just a slight bend to their hair. Would it work for a curly-haired girl? That remains to be seen — cuts like this can be notoriously difficult on coiled hair. The shorter the strand, the tighter the curl, and manes like these are less conducive to the "woke-up-like-this" aesthetic this crop speaks to. But, whatever is making these gals reach for the scissors, one thing is certain — short hair is here to stay.
