Long before Lily James and Cate Blanchett — 65 years, to be exact — there was the O.G. animated Disney version of Cinderella. Needless to say, the film's "honest" trailer has been a long time coming.
While the 2015 version is being championed for its more empowering message, the original has some damning evidence of anti-feminist beliefs which this parody trailer can't help but point out.
"Revisit the animated classic that will cancel out all the empowering things your daughter learned from Frozen...where girls are taught to be pushovers, do all the housework, and that their problems will disappear if they're hot enough to land a rich problem," the narrator intones.
Cue female mouse grabbing a sewing needle while shouting, "Leave the sewin' to the women!" And, yeah, it is a little suspicious that the fairy godmother waited until the night of the ball to step in and give ol' Cinders a helping hand.
Is Cinderella actually crazy? Are the mice evil vermin who will kill you in your sleep? Do dreams never come true? Watch the video below and judge for yourself.
