Will Jason Biggs be binge-watching Orange is the New Black when the third season drops on Netflix?
Maybe so, because that's as close as he'll get to Piper (Taylor Schilling) and
her onscreen drama this season.
According to the American
Pie star, his character Larry Bloom simply isn't needed for this upcoming
season. He told HuffPost Live, "It's not a Larry season. They have a lot
of characters to service on that show and, at the end of the day, it's a
women's prison show. Larry is not a woman or in prison. But, the good news is
with a show like that, there's always the possibility that he could come back.
And, I would go back in a heartbeat."
Biggs added, "I'm actually really excited to see Season
3, and talking to a bunch of people over there, I think it's going to be pretty
awesome."
The last we saw of Larry, he was schtupping Piper's former
best friend Polly (Maria Dizzia, who is also in the charming Noah Baumbach
comedy While We're Young). That
didn't exactly win him any cookies from the OITNB
fan base or with Piper, so there will be plenty of fans who won't be too sorry
to have a Larry-free season. On the other hand, the real-life Piper and Larry are
married and together after all these years. On the third hand, there's so much
to explore with the characters in and around Litchfield Penitentiary that the
writers could spend years and years just on those storylines alone.
