Update: NBC News is reporting that one of the victims was shot in the head and several are fighting for their lives at local hospitals. The victims are reportedly all in their early 20s and several are students at Alabama A&M University visiting Panama City Beach for spring break. The suspect, David Jamichael Daniels, has been charged with seven counts of attempted murder. This is not how Spring Break should end. Seven people were shot and injured at a spring break party early Saturday morning in Panama City Beach, Florida, WCTV is reporting. Sheriff Frank McKeithen told the Panama City News Herald that the shooting happened at 1:30am.  The suspected shooter was quickly taken into custody, McKeithen told the News Herald, due to additional deputies on duty for Spring Break. Spring Break in Panama City Beach has made headlines in the past  for being notoriously wild. Last year Fox News host Sean Hannity ran a report that showed people drinking and doing drugs publicly, which led to the city passing ordinances to try to tame the festivities. The Sheriff's office is holding a press conference this afternoon, we will update this post with new information. This story was first published on Saturday, March 28 at 12:07pm and updated the same day at 3:05pm.
