Tuesday marked the 20th anniversary of Tommy Boy. The '90s comedy starring David Spade and Chris Farley remains a special film for fans — especially following the tragic death of Farley in 1997.
In honor of the movie's anniversary, Spade shared a story about the late comedian and posted a picture of a Tommy Boy movie poster to Instagram. Apparently, the co-stars had an inside joke about the marketing materials surrounding the film. "We gave each other autographed posters as a joke back then," he wrote in the caption. "Now I see it in my office and skim over it because if I think about that for more than five seconds I'll start bawling."
The bittersweet memory of the movie and Farley's fate surely has a similar effect on fans. But, Spade concluded this otherwise heartbreaking moment in characteristic style. "As Chris would say, 'What a pussy' #RIP."
