Hilary Duff has given us a lot to obsess over in the past 24 hours. First, her super-catchy new single, "Sparks" (don't listen unless you're ready to whistle your way home tonight). Next, her style. Granted, we've been taking fashion cues from Duff since her Lizzie McGuire days. But, the entertainer has since grown up and moved to Brooklyn (pretty much the exact future we imagined for Lizzie) — and her sartorial choices have grown up, too. Just today, Hilary stopped by Extra and answered an age-old conundrum familiar to us all: How do you dress up a plain, white T-shirt?
Duff's formula is simple and easily replicable. The actress paired a cropped tee with a high-waisted, ribbed pencil skirt from Jonathan Simkhai — to elongate her figure and elevate the ensemble as a whole. Some barely-there sandals added height and sophistication. In terms of accessories, a silver cuff bracelet on one wrist and a bulky ring on the other hand topped off the look. (No handbag for Hil, because you don't need a clutch when you're going on television.)
We may still be a ways away from Friday night, but rest assured we'll be recycling Hilary's outfit for our weekend adventures. Check out our Duff-inspired picks, below.
