Intel’s MICA Bracelet Now Gets R29 Notifications

Intel's sleekly designed smart bracelet, the MICA (short for "My Intelligent Communication Accessory"), just added a new feature we hope you'll love: integration with Refinery29 Fashion and Horoscopes. Now, you can get the latest fashion and horoscope tidbits delivered right to your wrist. The MICA bracelet, a collaboration between Intel and Opening Ceremony, doesn't rely on a Bluetooth tether to your smartphone like most wearables these days. Covered in snakeskin, pearls, and tiger's eye, the bracelet has its own 3G data connection, so you can always receive emails, access your Google calendar and reminders, get Facebook event alerts, check Yelp, and receive your text messages. On top of that, now you can receive a weekly R29 Horoscope alert, so you know what the stars have in store for your career, relationships, and personal life. You can also get styling tips, a heads up on trends, and the latest fashion industry news from R29 Fashion. You won't be bombarded with this information at all times of the day and night, though — that would be irritating. The news arrives on your wrist once a week, on Monday mornings.  Current MICA owners can download the new features by manually updating the bracelet through its on-board settings application. The MICA costs $495 and is available through Barneys New York and Opening Ceremony.
